Empowering every Bahamian to be informed, prepared, and resilient in the face of disaster.

Get Ready envisions a Bahamas where individuals, families, and communities are proactive, knowledgeable, and equipped to respond to any emergency. We strive for a culture of readiness that protects lives, preserves livelihoods, and strengthens national resilience through trusted information, accessible resources, and continuous public engagement.

Mission Statement

To provide the Bahamian people with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to prepare for and respond to disasters—before they strike.

As the public education and resource hub of the Disaster Risk Management Authority, Get Ready delivers accurate, timely, and culturally relevant disaster preparedness content. We support national resilience by:

  • Raising awareness of risks and response strategies

  • Equipping households and businesses with practical preparedness guides

  • Promoting early action through clear and consistent messaging

  • Collaborating with schools, communities, and local partners to build a shared readiness culture
